Become an ATP

What is an Authorized Training Provider (ATP)?

An OSHAA Authorized Training Provider, or ATP, is an independent company or organization authorized to provide OSHAA training directly to students in a classroom setting. OSHAA ATPs help meet the needs of students seeking a more traditional classroom-based training experience.

How do ATP courses differ from online courses?

Courses taught by an ATP are classroom-based. This allows students to have a more direct interaction with the instructor compared to an online course. Moreover, ATPs can offer hands-on training for select courses, which may not be attainable through online training. Lastly, ATPs possess the capability to design customized courses tailored to meet the specific needs of their clients.

OSHAA ATPs are authorized to provide awareness-level training. OSHAA does not certify that students trained by ATPs are qualified or competent to perform OSH responsibilities.

What is the cost of ATP training?

Each ATP sets its own training fees based on the specific program or course being taught. Factors influencing the pricing may include the duration of training, involvement of hands-on activities, necessary training materials, travel expenses, and the number of students. To obtain current pricing information, kindly reach out to your local ATP or visit their website.

OSHAA ATP Requirements

OSHAA has established a rigorous set of prerequisites that each applicant must fulfill to qualify as an Authorized Training Provider (ATP). These requirements are designed to ensure that only training organizations with the appropriate blend of education and experience are eligible to offer OSHAA training.

All ATP applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

    • Note: OSHAA may exercise discretion regarding educational background requirements, which can be substituted with verifiable OSH / HSE work experience. Typically, this requires a minimum of 8-12 years of experience.

Is there an application fee?

Yes, there is an application fee of $500.00 that must be submitted along with the initial ATP application. This fee is non-refundable.
