Introduction
Occupational Safety and Health American Council (OSHAA) develop this fire safety is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
Intended Audience
OSHAA designed this qualification is for people with fire safety responsibilities at work. It is particularly relevant for those who contribute to or conduct and review fire risk assessments within low to medium risk workplaces.

Ensure all employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time they are first employed and on being exposed to new and increased risks.
Appoint one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace and provide them with sufficient training to remain effective in reducing the risks from fire hazards.
The FSO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupations.
Under the FSO, the responsible person must conduct a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan.
