Course Description

Level 4 Certificate in Environmental Management aims to equip learners with an understanding of the key principles of environment, the knowledge, understanding and information about the environmental management systems about ISO Standards. And also about the environmental planning and about the ways to key elements of an EMS. Most importantly learners will be able to know about the ways of protection of the environment by knowing about different factors that are important for a good environment system.

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE

The Level 3 Certificate in Environmental Management consists of 5 Mandatory units making a combined total of 12 credits, 120 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification

Note:

TQT: Represents the number of notional hours expected as required to complete a qualification.
GLH: Represents the number of hours a trainer is available to teach and supervise the learner working on a qualification.
Credit: Represents the number of credits which may be awarded to a learner to successfully complete the qualification

* One credit is equal to the 10 hours of TQT.

Assessment Criteria:

The qualification assessment criteria is assignment based, but to achieve a pass, the learner must fulfill all the learning requirements of each unit, and at the end of every unit an interview will be conducted as an evidence to ensure that the work truly belongs to the learner.

  • the advantages and disadvantages of implementing an accredited environmental management system
  • the purpose of and process involved in developing an effective environmental policy

  • the purpose and processes of checking environmental performance including monitoring and measuring, corrective and preventive actions and auditing
  • the reasons for producing an environmental report

Module Quiz

Each course is structured into modules, and at the conclusion of each module, there is a quiz intended to assist students in assessing their grasp of the course material. Once the student submits their quiz responses, they will receive the correct answers for review. Please note that quiz results are not stored and can be retaken multiple times.

Course Exam

Upon completing the course material and module quizzes, students have the opportunity to take the course exam. The course exam is specifically crafted to evaluate the students' comprehension of the course content. These exams consist of multiple-choice questions drawn from our comprehensive question bank.

Exam Characteristics

  • Students are allotted a two-hour timeframe to complete the course exam.
  • To pass the exam, you must attain a minimum score of 70%.
  • If you do not pass the exam, you have the option to retake it.
    • Students are permitted to take an exam a maximum of three (3) times within a 48-hour period.
    • Following the third attempt, students must wait for a 48-hour period before they can make another attempt at the exam. During this interval, it is recommended that students review the course material to enhance their comprehension.
  • After each exam, students will receive an email containing references (module and tab) to the content related to the questions they answered incorrectly. Students are strongly encouraged to review the course material associated with these references to enhance their understanding.
  • If you successfully pass the exam, you are not permitted to retake the exam to improve your score.
